At Fonthill House, each member of our team has been carefully chosen for their naturally caring attitude. Each of them brings expertise and a passion for what they do to ensure a comfortable and happy stay.

Everyone is fully trained in the 'Fonthill way' and works together to provide a loving and supportive environment. The nurses lead the clinical team, fully supported by care assistants, nursing assistants, and the hospitality and activities teams.

We have set new standards with our care home having been rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission.

Fonthill House has been awarded Care Home of the Year by The Gold Standards Framework.

Dr Waites responds quickly when our residents need a GP. Our nurses communicate daily with her to diagnose and treat both acute and chronic health concerns. Her particular passion is in palliative and end of life care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide compassionate, holistic care.

Younger Adults

We are a home for anyone over the age of 18 who requires nursing or residential care. Purpose-built, light and airy building with sensory area, virtual reality experiences, disability vehicle for day trips. PEG/PEJ feeding, seizure management.

Neurological Rehabilitation

Fonthill House offers a skilled care environment for adults with neuro-disabilities seeking permanent residence, respite care or further rehabilitation after hospital.

When special care is required, Fonthill offers enhanced one-to-one and two-to-one care with bespoke packages matched to your needs and preferences.

Working closely with dietitians and nutritionists, our chefs create appetising menus personalised for each resident. From freshly caught fish and the finest meats to nutritious smoothies and afternoon tea, everything is prepared daily using locally sourced ingredients from St Albans. Our full restaurant menu is available in the coffee shop for residents and guests alike.
